Erin Staff

Rev. Dr. G. Patrick Thompson, Pastor

Pastor Pat assumed his duties on January 1, 2005 and comes to Erin after serving congregations in Ecorse, Livonia and West Bloomfield. He is a second-career pastor who spent a number of years as a labor union staff member. Pastor Pat is a graduate of Wayne State University with a B.A. in English and holds a Master of Divinity degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. He also holds the Doctor of Ministry degree with a specialization in parish revitalization from the Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit.

A proud member of the Masonic fraternity, Pastor Pat is an officer in Roseville Lodge No. 522, F. & A.M., Detroit Commandery No. 1, K.T., and Roseville Chapter No. 468, O.E.S. He also serves as an advisor for Roseville Chapter, Order of DeMolay.

Pastor Pat is married to Lorraine and is the father of two adult sons. He is available for spiritual, family, and pre-marital counseling by appointment.
   

Dorothy Pietrzak, Church Administrator

  Grew up in Eastpointe, MI, graduated from South Lake High School and furthered her education in computers, IBM office machines and Early Childhood. She married Tom Pietrzak in 1970 and set up residence in the city of Roseville, MI where they still reside.

Dorothy worked in the computer department for Haskins & Sells CPA Firm in Detroit, MI, until she left to raise her family. She and Tom have two children, a daughter Kelly, who is married to Tom Driver and a son Scott, who is married to Kelly Eve. When her children went to college she went back to work in Early Childhood and taught preschool in Roseville. Tom & Dorothy joined Erin Presbyterian Church in 1999. Dorothy has served on the Board of Deacons and Ushering Teams. She and Tom were blessed with their first grandchild, Sydney Isabella Driver this past August 2007.
   

Norlita Kaul, Minister of Music

 

Norlita Kaul is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. She is a graduate of Southeast MO State University (Cape Girardeau) receiving a Bachelor of General Studies degree with a specialization in Music Education K-12. She also attended the Conservatory at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where she did degree work toward a Master of Music degree in the field of Organ Performance. It was during this time that she served as a Staff Organist at the RLDS Auditorium (now Community of Christ) working with Dr. John Obetz. She also had the opportunity to attend two Masterclass seminars in Paris France, concentrating on French Organ Literature.

Norlita after many years of the Holy Spirit’s bidding began her studies at Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit, pursuing a Master of Divinity degree, which Lord willing will be granted on May 31, 2008. During this time she has served as the Seminary’s organist, utilizing the 4 manual Casavant that was once the domain of Dr. Gordon Young. She has also served as a Chaplain Intern for the past 2 years at the John D. Dingell Veteran’s Medical Center in Detroit, prior to joining the staff of Erin Presbyterian church.

She has served as a Church Musician for 34 years, beginning musical training at the age of five; she has studied with Earl Naylor, Leslie Raven Bradbury and Dr. John A. Ditto. She has been named to the Chancellor’s list and an ESTARL scholar as well during her studies at ETS.

Norlita is a member of Meridian #442 St. Louis and Farmington #239 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Madison Court #11 Order of the Amaranth, an alumni member of the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota and is also a member of the American Guild of Organists. She has two grown children, Natalie Hilterbrand Smith and Nolan Hilterbrand, a precious little granddaughter Chloe Anna Jean Lemons and yet another grandchild on the way.

Norlita has served numerous congregations in a variety of denominations prior to coming to Erin, and will continue to serve as a “guest instructor” for several school districts in Wayne County and fomerly in Missouri for over 20 years.

   

Leesa Wright, Clerk of Session

 

Leesa grew up in Perth, Scotland and emigrated to Fraser, Michigan with her family in 1982. Leesa graduated from Fraser High School and later from Wayne State University with a Masters Degree in Education and French.

Leesa currently teaches French at Fraser High School. Leesa has been clerk of session at Erin since 2005, and co-teaches the 4th-6th grade Sunday School class.

   

Mark Blair, Director of Information Technology

Mark comes to Erin Presbyterian Church with a background in computer technical support and website design and development. He has been responsible for supporting the computer systems and networks of several large and medium sized corporations. At Erin Mark is responsible for maintaining and developing the website and e-mail accounts. He also continues to make improvements to various aspects of the site including providing tools for all staff members to utilize.

Mark is married to Cheryl and has two children, Alexandra and Sean. Mark and Cheryl were married in 1998 and had their wedding at Erin. They officially joined Erin Presbyterian Church in 2005.
